Experience

In 2019, I started a teaching position as an Adjunct Professor at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego for the Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling program. Since then, I have been teaching the following classes: Supervised Practicum, Crisis and Trauma Counseling, and Career Development.

I have been in Private Practice since 2010 and have been providing psychotherapy to a diverse population comprised of young adults, couples, and women experiencing reproductive or perinatal health issues, or simply, the daily “struggle of the juggle”. I also serve trauma victims, such as adult survivors of abuse or victims of crime, who are typically referred to me by the California Victim Compensation Board (Cal-VCB).

Before starting a Private Practice, I worked at Home Start, Inc. in San Diego as a MFT Associate Therapist for five years.  At this non-profit agency, I provided Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment. I worked with children and their caregivers, and used treatments such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy.  I also conducted treatment with adolescents and adults from the Victims of Crime program, and facilitated a Domestic Violence Support Group for female victims. Before moving to San Diego, my experience as a Counselor-In-Training included a Practicum at Empact-SPC, an outpatient Suicide Prevention Center in Tempe, AZ, and a Traineeship at the Counseling Training Center at Arizona State University.
